We won! Canadian Music Challenge

Two Burnaby Schools are winners in a national music contest involving thousands of students from coast-to-coast. Capitol Hill and Marlborough Elementary schools took the top prize in their categories, with a primary class at Capitol Hill also capturing a third prize win in the Canadian Music Class Challenge, put on by CBC Music.

There are only 11 public school categories for various ages in the contest and when classes from all over Canada are competing, capturing 2 of the 11 top honours shines a light on the talents of students and the strength of music education in the Burnaby School District.

Two schools won for their rendition of Nikamo, a Cree lullaby. Learn more about the winners and see their entries below. Read about the seven performances from four Burnaby schools that made the finals here.
