Halloween Sparks Spirited Learning Opportunities

Across the District, students have had several learning and community-building opportunities through Halloween fun.

From school-yard pumpkin patches to art and even student-led haunted houses, there are many examples throughout Burnaby Schools of children of all ages enjoying the spirit of the season.

Costume days, pumpkin carving contests and theme weeks are among the opportunities Halloween provides to come together as a community. Several Parent Advisory Councils organized pumpkin patches at elementary schools. Leadership students at Alpha Secondary led a spooky art activity at nearby Brentwood Park Elementary.

To assist with keeping the fun in Halloween, this District resource provides some guidance for how to be creative without causing unintentional harm.
