Race Matters calls out racism with positive responses. Keynote presentation is by Minnijean Brown Trickey, one of the nice African American students who collectively resisted opposition to the desegregation of Little Rock Central High School in 1957, with protection from federal troops. Youth will then participate in an interactive workshop by Ensemble, as well as a “Race Matters from Coast to Coast” worskhip sponsored by the National Congress of Black Women Foundation. Videos from the BlackHalifax.com Project will be presented by Kevan Scruffmouth and facilitated in discussion led by Dr. Annette Henry.
