Inspiring and beautiful art by students with disabilities or diverse abilities is on display in a professionally installed exhibition at a gallery open to the public.
The fourth annual Building a Better Tomorrow Through Art is led by the Access team at Burnaby North Secondary. It opened this month with a reception for the student-artists, their families, and special guests at the gallery in The Anvil Centre in New Westminster.
The exhibit features the artwork of youth from the following schools:
- Burnaby North Secondary
- Byrne Creek Community School
- Cariboo Hill Secondary
- Moscrop Secondary
- New Westminster Secondary
The exhibition statement:
This exhibition steps toward intentional inclusion to provide meaningful experiences for the students while creating opportunities and providing support for them and their families. Our intention is for the audience to experience the hopes of our youth, value the creativity of our students and walk with us towards building a better tomorrow.”
Building a Better Tomorrow Through Art is open to the pubic:
- from May 9 – 30
- with free admission
- on the 4th floor of Anvil Centre during the centre’s operating hours
- at 777 Columbia Street, New Westminster
