Seaforth and Parkcrest Elementary students and staff started the new school year with seismic improvements and upgrades to their buildings.
Final aspects of the work continues, including the grounds. The Ministry of Education and Child Care provided $28.6 million for the two upgrades.
Burnaby Board of Education Chair Jen Mezei:
Safety is a priority we share with the Ministry of Education and Child Care, and we’re appreciative of these investments, which ultimately benefit the whole community.”
Since 2017, the Ministry has provided $157.2 million to the District for seismic upgrades at Seaforth, Parkcrest, Armstrong Elementary, Stride Avenue Community School, and the brand-new Burnaby North Secondary.
