All eight high schools held graduation ceremonies against the spectacular backdrop of Simon Fraser University on top of Burnaby Mountain.
Grade 12 students walked through the picturesque setting to join the awaiting crowd. Diplomas were presented individually to graduates.
The youth punctuated the end of each ceremony and their public school journeys with a collective toss of their grad caps.
Honouring Our Youth is an additional ceremony that was held for Indigenous graduates and their families. It followed local protocol through the generosity of Elders and Knowledge Keepers.
