An Industry Connect Program

The Theatre Production and Design Program provides students with the opportunity to earn graduation credits and experience with industry professionals. Students will be able to select courses that provide training to use applications such as: VectorWorks, SketchUp, Qlab, Audacity, and Adobe Photoshop.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE THINGS THEATRE PROFESSIONALS DO?

Set Design → drafting, renderings, set construction, set painting
Costume Design → creating costume sketches, garment alterations, costume building, stage make-up, wigs
Lighting Design → Drafting a lighting plot, photometrics, hanging and focusing fixtures, programing a lighting board
Sound Design → Cue creation, sound editing, sound mixing, speaker plots

WHAT DO I NEED TO START?

  • Entering grade 11 or grade 12
  • Good employability skills
  • Strong interest in theatre or film design
  • Effective interpersonal and communications skills
  • Be connected to the theatre program at your school

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
