Health Sciences

The Industry Connect Health Sciences Program will assist students with their transition to post secondary education in the health care field. Course work will include biology, anatomy, physiology, chemistry and physics. Students will also study patient case scenarios that follow a patient through symptoms, diagnosis and treatment.

WHAT WILL THE PROGRAM OFFER STUDENTS?

  • exploration of diagnostic procedures and tools
  • lab experiences with biotechnology, dissections, microscope work
  • investigations of human diseases and disorders, including case studies
  • community-based work experience opportunities
  • up to 16 graduation credits including Anatomy & Physiology 12
  • guest speakers from different roles within the healthcare field

WHAT DO I NEED TO START?

  • entering Grade 11 or 12
  • successfully completed or be registered in Math 11 Pre-Calculus, Physics 11 and Chemistry 11
  • grade 12 students’ corequisites include Chemistry 12 and Math Pre-Calculus 12
  • Life Sciences 11 is recommended

  • Moscrop Secondary School
  • Day 1 afternoons (period 3, 4 & Y)
