The 2019/20 Words anthology is hot off the press. You can read it here: Waves of Words.
Check out the May 14 edition of the Burnaby Now for the sponsored full page congratulating the more than 100 student authors published this year. Thank you Burnaby Now and Royal Printers for your ongoing support of the Words Writing Project.
Unique to Burnaby Schools, the Words Writing Project is a literacy tradition that began in 1985. It celebrates the best in student writing and provides career exploration by inviting students district-wide, from Kindergarten to Grade 12, to submit an original story or poem for a chance to get published.
Selected works are printed in the limited edition anthology and distributed to libraries, teachers, the authors and their families. For most, the Words Writing Project is an introduction to the published world. Thoughtful, confident students have gone on to successful careers with many crediting their success and recognition in the Words Writing Project as an inspirational milestone.
