Student art is making its way into the upcoming civic election. Six youth had their entries chosen in a City of Burnaby art contest to wrap mail ballot boxes.
180 students responded to the City of Burnaby’s invitation to local students to design a ballot box wrap for the 2022 local government election. The theme was “Your City. Your Choice.” Winners were selected based on creativity and theme interpretation, with the volunteer judges including Superintendent Gina Niccoli-Moen.
The students whose art was chosen are Ava from Montecito Elementary, Cindy from Armstrong Elementary, Jackson from Aubrey Elementary, Kaito from Brentwood Elementary, Katrina from Brantford Elementary, and Ryan from Burnaby South Secondary. The winners were personally acknowledged by the Mayor at a City of Burnaby meeting.
