Burnaby South and Moscrop Secondary Schools are being honoured nationally for their quality daily physical education programs for the 2018-19 school year. Of the BC winners, they won the highest scores in the province, with South in first and Moscrop in second place.
The award has a variety of criteria including that the program emphasizes student learning, personal success, fair play, and personal health with opportunities for student leadership development. The recognition is from Physical and Health Education Canada (PHE Canada), a national organization which supports community champions with quality programs, professional development services, and community activation initiatives.
The organization just featured Burnaby South’s Department Head, Josh Ogilvie (see below).
