Lacrosse Academy Hires Elite Coaches


Practices held on SFU’s Burnaby Mountain Campus will be led by Mackenzie Terrio, former coach with the Burnaby Mountain Selects Elite Development Program and Matthew Sobey, a long time coach of Minor Lacrosse and Zone Coach for the 2018 BC Summer Games. In addition to their Academy roles, Terrio and Sobey have also been named as Assistant Coaches with the SFU Men’s Lacrosse team.

Practices Hosted at SFU Burnaby Campus This Fall

Open to Grades 8-12 students, this brand new academy is a partnership between SFU Lacrosse and Burnaby Schools. Year-round training will be hosted at Simon Fraser University’s Burnaby Mountain Campus where participants will share the same facilities used by the SFU Men’s Lacrosse program.  WATCH VIDEO

Applications Still Accepted from All Burnaby High School Students

Open to all high school students, Cariboo Hill Secondary Principal Andy Chin will lead the academic programming and collaborate with Jason Stockley, Youth Programs Manager for Simon Fraser University Athletics and Recreation. Once accepted, student athletes may remain at their current school or they may choose to become full-time Cariboo Hill students.

Grades 8-12 will receive high performance training with academic support through a holistic approach. Delivery of the program will be under the supervision of Brent Hoskins, Head Coach of the SFU Lacrosse Club.
