Several Burnaby Schools teams placed in the Skills Canada Regional Juniors and went on to the provincial competition. There, young people throughout the province showcase their mastery of trade and technology skills at Olympic–style competitions hosted by Skills Canada BC.
Our Grade 8 team from Alpha Secondary won the provincial gold medal in the Bridge Building category with their 55 gram spaghetti creation. Congratulations to Susan Zhang, Vijay Tupper, Ari Cholakian, and Lochlan Dopson.
Students from the CISCO Networking Academy at Burnaby South Secondary took the top two prizes in the provincial IT-Networks portion of the competition. Ian Ertzinger won gold and Tibo Cheung took silver.
